Festive Fiber Fun: Quick and Easy DIY Holiday Ornamental Magic

This time of year presents us with so many fun projects to consider, but since time is short, a fast turnaround is needed.  

Here are some  fun and easy things to make that will help make the season festive.

Wind Spinners

These little curly ornaments take just a few minutes to make, but their impact will last for years, especially if made with a sparkly yarn.  Adorable on the tree or wreath or, for that matter anywhere – even as a gift tie. There are numerous free star patterns available online, offering endless possibilities for creative use. The first pattern is a traditional one that, when done in bright colors, can beautifully adorn trees, wreaths, or packages. Consider joining the points to create a charming garland for the mantle or the tree. The second pattern below is easy to make and intriguing to put together, suitable not only for Christmas but for various occasions.

 Gnomes are everywhere at this time of year, symbolizing growth and fertility, and are often found in gardens. During the holiday season, they also pop up as reminders of nature and good luck.
